NFL 2025 Odds: Which Teams Are the Biggest Underdogs To Win Their Divisions?

The 2025 NFL season is already beginning to rear its head. Plenty are wondering about the big boys of the league and where the Lombardi Trophy will ultimately end up next February. It’s always exciting to speculate, and there’s no question - speculation abounds!

If the betting odds are to be believed, there are plenty of contenders. The latest sports betting odds on the NFL currently make the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles the +600 favorites to repeat last season's success. Last February, their monstrous defense ransacked the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, ending any hopes that Patrick Mahomes and Co had of securing a history-making three-peat and announcing to the world that it's the Birds who are the league's newest dominant force. However, with the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, and recently vanquished KC all just behind them in the odds lists, the final location of the Lombardi is far from a foregone conclusion.

But what about the league's unheralded teams? Well, for a select few, 2025 could well be a long year. While many have genuine Super Bowl ambitions or a deep postseason run at the very least, these four will be happy every time they pick up a victory next season. Here are the three teams that have the longest odds to win their division in the NFL next season.

Browns

The Cleveland Browns' 2024 season was another disappointing chapter in the franchise’s long history of struggles. After reaching the playoffs with Joe Flacco rolling back the years the season prior, many hoped that the Ohio outfit could kick on and build on that platform. Unfortunately, though, they embarked upon a disastrous campaign, winning just three games all year to finish at rock bottom of the AFC North.

The Browns' front office has invested heavily in upgrades, particularly on the defensive side. They drafted a promising defensive tackle in Mason Graham with their first-round pick, hoping to add another layer of dynamism to Myles Garrett's pass-rushing efforts. Additionally, they inked linebacker Jerome Baker to a one-year deal in a bid to shore up their run defense.

On offense, they have retooled their quarterback department to no end, and have no fewer than five QBs who will all feel they have a genuine chance at being a starter next year. Deshaun Watson remains in Cleveland, but it is unclear whether the Browns will finally give up on the man they forked out an absolute fortune to sign three years ago. He is joined by former Pittsburgh Steeler Kenny Pickett, as well as the returning Flacco and two rookies, namely Dillon Gabriel and the much-maligned Shedeur Sanders.

The Browns carry the longest odds to win their division at +3300, primarily due to the depth and strength of the AFC North. Both the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals harbor genuine Lombardi ambitions this season, and considering the fact that Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow will be leading those two into battle, it's clear why. The Steelers will also be hoping to reach the playoffs following the addition of Aaron Rodgers, leaving Cleveland seemingly left to prop up the quartet once again.

Giants

The Giants are coming off a disastrous 2024 campaign where they hit their lowest point in years. A 3-14 finish reflected not only a failing offense but also a defense unable to make critical stops. To make matters worse, the Big Apple outfit was set to secure the number one overall pick of the recent draft; however, a late-season victory against the Indianapolis Colts saw them move down to number three, allowing the Titans to claim top spot.

That resulted in the promising Ward heading to Tennessee to become the new franchise quarterback. The Giants, meanwhile, will have to settle for a combination of veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, as well as rookie first-rounder Jaxson Dart.

Looking to stop the bleeding, the Giants turned to free agency to bolster their miserable defense. Their headline acquisition is the highly-rated defensive end Abdul Carter, who was picked up with the third overall pick of the NFL draft. He is joined by cornerback Paulson Adebo, who has penned a three-year $54m to join from the New Orleans Saints. Safety Jevon Holland has also been snapped up from Miami, but the MetLife Stadium side still faces an uphill battle next term.

Much like the Browns in the AFC North, the NFC East has become one of the toughest divisions in football, making the Giants’ lofty +3000 odds unsurprising. With both the Eagles and the Cowboys in the division, things were already extremely difficult. However, the emergence of the Washington Commanders with Jayden Daniels under center has made their task in 2025 even more arduous,

Raiders

For the Las Vegas Raiders, the 2024 season brought more disappointment. While all three of their divisional rivals reached the postseason, they instead wrapped up with a disappointing 4-13 record, struggling mightily against the league’s tougher competition. However, the Allegiant Stadium faithful have a few reasons to be optimistic next term.

The first of those is that the Sin City side has two genuine superstars on both sides of the ball in the form of tight end Brock Bowers and edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Furthermore, they will receive plenty of support next term. Firstly, quarterback Geno Smith has been brought in after a career year in Seattle. Next, running back Ashton Jeanty was selected in the opening round of the draft, and he will ensure that the Raiders possess a dangerous threat on the ground.

Still, following the success of the other three teams in their division last term, Las Vegas has lengthy odds of +2000 to win the AFC West. Considering that the quartet has been locked down by the Kansas City Chiefs for the better part of the last decade, perhaps we shouldn't be surprised.
